Claude can reach your inbox, your files and your team's tools through connectors. Most come from its directory in one click. The rest you add yourself by URL.
What you can do
Claude's directory holds connectors Anthropic has reviewed, like Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Slack and Figma. A custom connector covers everything else, any service with an MCP server. You paste its URL in Settings, then Connectors, sign in, and Claude can use its tools in any chat. A connector you add on claude.ai works in the Claude desktop app too.

- Google Drive. Answer from your team's docs and sheets without pasting them in.
- Figma. Read a design file and turn a frame into a spec or code.
- Sentry or Supabase. Pull up an error or query a table, then fix it in the same chat.
Connect DocStash
DocStash is a home for the pages, apps and docs your AI makes. A Claude artifact lives inside its chat. DocStash is in Claude's directory, so connecting it takes one click. After that, Claude can save an artifact to one link that stays private until you share it, keeps every version, and opens in any browser. ChatGPT, Gemini and other agents connected to DocStash can pick up the same page.
- Ask Claude to save it. Say "save this artifact to DocStash". Claude shows a preview, and Stash gives you a link like
docstash.ai/<slug>, private until you share it. - Keep building. Ask for changes and save again. The same link shows the latest version, and Activity keeps every earlier one.
- Share it. Make the link public, or invite people by email.
FAQ
Does Claude support MCP?
Yes. Claude connects to remote MCP servers as connectors on claude.ai and in the desktop app, and Claude Code adds them from the terminal.
What is the difference between a directory connector and a custom one?
A directory connector is listed and reviewed, and adds in one click. A custom connector is any MCP server you add by URL yourself, so whether to trust it is up to you.
Do connectors work in Claude Code?
Yes. Claude Code signed in with your Claude account loads the connectors you added on claude.ai.
Is it safe to add a custom connector?
Anthropic doesn't review custom connectors, so only add servers you trust. Claude asks before it uses a connector's tool unless you choose to always allow it.
