  • Gmail on the web shows an .html attachment as raw code, not as a page. To see it, the person has to download the file and open it in a browser.
  • Put the file on DocStash and send the link in Gmail instead. It opens as a real webpage in any browser.
  • If an AI made the HTML, connect it to DocStash and it saves the page to a link for you.

Gmail previews an .html attachment as its raw code, so the person sees tags instead of your page. Host the page and send its link instead, and it opens as a full webpage.

Send a link instead of a file

DocStash turns an HTML file into a real webpage with one link. Put that link in your Gmail message and it opens in the browser on any phone or computer, images and all, with no attachment to download. Drop in the file, or let your AI agent send the page straight to DocStash.

Already have the HTML?

  1. Drop the file below. Drag it anywhere on this page, or choose it. It becomes a webpage with its own link, private until you publish it.
    htmlmdtextpdf
  2. Publish it. Every page starts private. Switch it to public so anyone with the link can open it, with no account. It stays off search engines.
  3. Paste the link into your Gmail message. The person clicks it and the page opens in their browser, on any device, with nothing to download.
  4. Update without resending. Upload a new version and the same link shows it, so the email you already sent stays current. Every earlier version stays in the history.

Made by an AI? Skip the download

If ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or another AI wrote the HTML, you do not need to save the file and upload it. Connect your AI to DocStash once, then ask it to stash and publish the page. You get a link to send in Gmail straight away, and any change you ask for later lands at the same link.

FAQ

Why does my HTML attachment show as code in Gmail?

Gmail on the web previews an .html attachment as its source code rather than rendering it, a change Google made for security. The person has to download the file and open it in a browser to see the page. A link opens the page directly.

Can I paste an HTML page into a Gmail message?

Only a limited version. Gmail does not run scripts in email and supports only part of a page's styling, so interactive pages, charts and most layouts break. To share the full page, send a link to it.

Can I change the page after I send the email?

Yes. Upload a new version and the same link shows it, so the email you already sent stays current. Every earlier version stays in the history.

Does the person need an account to open it?

No. Once you publish the page, anyone with the link opens it as a normal webpage.

Can I send it to only certain people?

Yes. Keep the page private and share it with specific people in DocStash. They sign in to open it, and nobody else can, even with the link.
