How to publish a Claude artifact without it showing up on Google Search

Claude made you something and you want to publish it and share the link, just not have it turn up on Google. But when you publish a Claude artifact, the public claude.ai link can get indexed by search engines, with no way to opt out. Here is how to publish it on DocStash instead. It is a genuinely public page anyone with the link can open, and it stays out of Google by default.

Why Claude artifacts show up on Google

  • Publishing makes it public. Claude says so itself. A published artifact is open to anyone with the link and can be indexed by search engines.
  • There is no in-between. An artifact is either private to you inside Claude, or fully public. You can't share it with just a few people.
  • Taking it down is messy. Once you unpublish, you can't publish that same artifact again, and its data is deleted.

Publish it on DocStash instead

  1. Connect Claude to DocStash. Pick Claude below and follow the short setup. No coding, no keys.
  2. Ask Claude to stash it. Say "stash this to DocStash". It saves straight to DocStash and stays private to you until you choose to publish it.
  3. Publish it, and it still stays out of Google. One click makes it a public page at docstash.ai/<slug> that anyone with the link can open, no login needed. It is genuinely public, but DocStash keeps it out of search by default. Public, but not searchable. That is the part Claude does not offer. With Claude, publishing means it can land on Google, with no way to keep it out.
  4. You stay in control. Keep it private, share it with only certain people, or turn search on later if you do want it found. You can change any of this any time, and nothing is deleted.

Will it show up on Google?

No. A published DocStash page is not indexed by search engines by default. You can turn search on later if you ever want it found.

Do I have to download the HTML from Claude?

No. Once Claude is connected, it sends the page to DocStash for you. No copy and paste.

Can I share it with only a few people?

Yes. Keep it private and share it with specific people, or make it public. Your choice.

My Claude artifact is already on Google. How do I get it off?

Unpublish the artifact in Claude and the page goes away, and Google drops the dead link over the following days. The catch is that Claude deletes that artifact's published data and you can't publish the same artifact again. If you still want the page live somewhere, republish it on DocStash, where the new link stays out of search by default.

Can I add a noindex tag to a Claude artifact?

No. Claude does not offer a noindex setting, robots control, or any way to opt a published artifact out of search. DocStash pages tell search engines not to index by default, and you can flip that on later if you want the page found.
