How to publish a Claude artifact without it showing up on Google Search
August 22, 2026 · 2 min read
Claude made you something and you want to send it to a few people, not put it on Google. But when you publish a Claude artifact, the link is public and can show up in search. Here is how to publish it on DocStash instead, so you get a link to share that stays out of Google.
Why Claude artifacts show up on Google
- Publishing makes it public. Claude says so itself: a published artifact is open to anyone with the link and can show up in search.
- There is no in-between. An artifact is either private to you inside Claude, or fully public. You cannot share it with just a few people.
- Taking it down is messy. Once you unpublish, you cannot publish that same artifact again, and its data is deleted.
FAQ
Will it show up on Google?
No. DocStash keeps your page out of search by default. You can turn search on later if you ever want it found.
Do I have to download the HTML from Claude?
No. Once Claude is connected, it sends the page to DocStash for you. No copy and paste.
Can I share it with only a few people?
Yes. Keep it private and share it with specific people, or make it public. Your choice.
Does this work with ChatGPT and other tools?
Yes. It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Gemini, and Codex.
